Supercritical Water Corrosion
The goal of the supercritical water corrosion project is to evaluate the corrosion and stress corrosion cracking resistance of candidate alloys for cladding and other structural application in supercritical water-cooled reactors (SCWR). Studies to improve corrosion and stress corrosion cracking performance by novel techniques such as surface implantation, surface treatment, grain boundary engineering, alloying, and heat treatment are included in the research program.
